3rd Annual Winter Baseball Camp at the Inspiring Kids Academy

This weekend, the Jerry Clark Foundation hosted its 3rd annual Winter Baseball Camp at the Inspiring Kids Academy located in Decatur, Georgia. Over 150 youths in the Atlanta metropolitan area enjoyed a full day of pure baseball instruction and enhancement. Campers received proper fundamentals and techniques from professional players and instructors in Major League Baseball and other esteemed baseball professionals and instructors.

This year’s camp took place in a new indoor baseball facility. Special guest’s instructors included Marquis Grissom, a MLB veteran and Cedric Hunter of the San Diego Padres.

Inspiring Kids Academy is hosting the “The Jerry Clark Foundation Winter Baseball Camp” on Saturday, January 22nd from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Falcons Star Dunta Robinson donates 80 Turkeys to Needy Families

Dunta Robinson, Atlanta Falcons cornerback and community service advocate is doing his part to make Thanksgiving dreams come true for a number of unfortunate metro-Atlanta families.

On Tuesday, November 23rd, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. the Atlanta Falcons cornerback will team up with Nicholas House, Crossroads Community Ministries, Initiative for Affordable Housing, Clifton Sanctuary Ministries, Hope through Divine Intervention, Traveler’s Aid and Decatur Cooperative Ministry to provide 20 families with turkeys for Thanksgiving.

The turkey donation will be held at the Solluna Park Apartments on Memorial Drive in Decatur. The other agencies will distribute the turkeys at their locations to the remainder of the recipients. 250 families were pre-selected to receive turkeys based on their need.

Decatur High School Hosts Inaugural Tip Off Classic Basketball Tournament, November 22nd and 23rd

The Decatur High Bulldogs are excited to announce that they are hosting the Inaugural Tip Off Classic Basketball Tournament on November 22 and 23, 2010.

Boys Varsity Coach Charlie Copp and Girls Varsity Coach Bill Roberts will lead their teams onto the court against some of the area's toughest opponents. Participating boys teams include: Decatur, Lakeside-Dekalb, Monticello and Paideia. The girls teams will be: Central Gwinnett, Decatur, Lakeside- Dekalb and Monticello.

Games will begin at 4:00pm on November 22 and admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. All games will be played at the Decatur High Gymnasium located at 310 N.
