Original Star Wars parody to premiere in Atlanta

Original Star Wars parody to premiere in Atlanta

ATLANTA -- The Spirit of Broadway presents an original show for 2013, The Skywalkers, benefiting the Compassion Programs of the Metropolitan Community Center in Atlanta.

This hysterical atypical Star Wars parody, written by Woodstock resident Trevor Petty, is "honest and respectful to each and every action in the six film saga." However, Petty saw an opportunity to create story lines, motives and intentions not originally in any of the movies. The Skywalkers will be performed on Saturday, August 24 at 8 p.m. at the First MCC Theatre.

Random Acts of Kindness: Letrisha Chatman

DECATUR, Ga. -- Today's Random Act of Kindness is for a wonderful mother and mentor.

Letrisha Chatman is always giving and taking care of others. Last year, she started a mentoring program for young women called U R Beautiful, Inc. which encourages girls to volunteer and help in their community while also improving themselves.

Just recently, she got a job working at a local daycare so she can take care of herself and children. She's a hard worker who never complains, and thanks to a tip from her sister 11Alive was able to surprise her with some much-needed help.
