DECATUR, Ga. -- A New York Times-bestselling author will read from her latest book in Decatur next month.

Sara Shepard is the author of the Pretty Little Liars series. The books were turned into a television show of the same name, which airs on ABC Family.

Crushed is the 13th book in the series. Shepard will speak about Crushed on Wednesday, June 5 at Little Shop of Stories.

Book Atlanta provided this synopsis of Crushed:

While the rest of their school is worried about preparing for prom, Hannah, Spencer, Emily and Aria are busy searching for more clues to bring down a mysterious person known as just "A."  A is continuing to punish them for the mistakes that their now deceased clique leader made, and for the girls' unwillingness to tell the truth about certain events. A's victims are mounting, with one recovering in the burn unit, and the girls try to fight back against the person who is wreaking havoc over their lives. Yet in order to continue to evade A, they first have to get over their habitual lying which could result in the loss of more than one life.
